Thiru Swamy shared a terrific presentation that talked about how he uses the SAP DB2 DBA Cockpit to successfully analyze and tune DB2/SAP databases. Nadir Doctor offered up some very clever SQL to analyze a database for redundant indexes and the need to run RUNSTATS. Nadir's SQL is available within the IDUG Code Place. Watch and learn!

As you might recall, Thiru Swamy was DB2's GOT TALENT 2011 2nd Place winner. Frankly, his presentation was very polished, fun, and informative. Even if you are not running SAP, Thiru offered advice and tips that can be used with any DB2 LUW database.


Nadir Doctor has previously presented at IDUG conferences. He's smart and very enthusiastic about DB2. I thought the SQL he shared for analyzing indexes and RUNSTATS was clever and helpful - especially the SQL that can help find redundant indexes. I hope to try it out myself within the next few days.
