Show Host Klaas Brant Commentary
In the last blog I told you that I started as a computer operator. That is a long time ago! In fact DB2 was not born yet and IMS was THE database. I am talking about 1979 and the computer in use was a 370/168. This computer had 16MB of memory and our total DASD space was less than 50GB. Wow, your PC is more powerful and for less than $100 you can buy a memory stick that can hold more information. Times do change! Nowadays we are talking about 1MB pages and buffer pools into the many GB. Want to know the latest and greatest about DB2 and its memory usage? Then watch todays show.
